The standard vacuum system is one of the most widely used blood collection systems available. When correctly used, the vacuum system will facilitate and decrease the duration of collection over gravity flow for most animals. This improves both donor comfort and blood quality
(i.e. tube clots, lack of flow, insufficient volume, etc.).We sell kits for our vacuum chamber systems designed specifically to improve monitoring of vacuum pressure near the chamber and regulate pressure in the vacuum line.
The Pressure Relief Valve Kit includes “T” fitting, relief valve and tubing for an in-line vacuum relief to the chamber. This allows bleeding off vacuum pressure if the pump cannot be regulated. The kit will retrofit to the neoprene tubing supplied with any model of the ABB Inc. vacuum chamber.
The Vacuum Gauge Kit includes a polyvinyl “T” fitting with nipples, a 1/4 inch threaded vacuum gauge and tubing to allow placement in-line between the vacuum pump and chamber. The gauge ranges from 0 to -24 inches HG. The gauge can be placed in a replacement chamber lid for an additional cost.

Our standard pump is the DOL series diaphragm pump designed for laboratory, medical and dental use. The pump features oil free, quiet operation, rugged construction with low maintenance, and it functions as both vacuum pump and small volume compressor. The pump system includes vacuum and pressure gauges, hose barbs, regulators, carrying handle, and cord with on/off switch. Other pumps and controls available.
This chamber allows for more efficient blood collection when used with most standard vacuum devices and blood bags. Fits collection bags up to 1 liter.
